The medieval village
Vaulted streets, staircases, interlocking stone houses, rooms with no direct opening. The stone never dries, condensation settles on it, and black patches come back in the same place every winter.
Village, Cap-Martin, Carnolès
Between Menton and Monaco the commune spreads across a steep slope: a medieval village clinging to the rock, villas on the Cap-Martin peninsula, and blocks lower down towards Carnolès. Almost everywhere, part of the home backs onto the ground.
We remove black mould from walls, ceilings and shower joints, without opening up partitions and without a building site. The quotation is made from photos, with the rate and the final figure before we travel out.

The local building stock explains most cases. Here is what comes up again and again.
Vaulted streets, staircases, interlocking stone houses, rooms with no direct opening. The stone never dries, condensation settles on it, and black patches come back in the same place every winter.
On a slope like this, many ground floors have a whole wall against the rock. That wall stays cold all year: this is where mould starts, often behind a piece of furniture that hides it.
Basements, laundry rooms, plant rooms and pools. Moisture produced at the bottom of the house rises, and the mould shows in the rooms above, not where it began.
Internal bathrooms with no window, extract fans often long dead, flats let out or used seasonally. Mould starts in the tile joints and on the shower ceiling.
Example of a treated surface: visible mold is cleaned, the area is sanitized and prepared to stay clean.
Before
AfterTreatment of affected surfaces with suitable products, 3-month guarantee. First pass €25 per m² of surface actually treated — not the floor area of the room, but the area we really work on — and every further pass cheaper than the one before. Visible mould needs 3 to 5 passes, an old infestation 5 to 15. Clean surfaces in the same room are treated preventively from €15/m². We clean visible mold without breaking walls, painting or heavy renovation. Rates and worked examples

That is the classic case of a wall against the ground. The furniture stops air moving and the wall stays cold: the surface behind is almost always worse than the part you can see. The furniture has to be movable, otherwise an obstructed-area surcharge applies.
Rarely to the door. Vaulted streets and staircases: where equipment has to be carried by hand the access surcharge from €40 applies, quoted in advance from the address.
€150, the same as Menton and Monaco: the whole commune is in zone A, travel included.
